Mom, Dad, and Kelsi vacationing in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, for Christmas. Here we’re cruising in front of a tourist shop.
Biking to town for coffee is fun.
It is a two-mile stretch to walk from Royal Haciendas to Playa del Carmen. The heart of downtown is 5th Street, the pedestrian-only street with shops, restaurants, cafes, and ice cream.
Shopping for a bird to put in the backyard at home in Georgia. Calaveras, or skulls, are colorful and part of the Mexican culture.
Grilled tuna and potatoes and Negro Modelo at Porfirio’s for lunch in town
Kelsi and Mom enjoying the beach. Two masseuses (wearing Royal Haciendas teal and white uniforms) in the background offer massages on the beach.
Settling in for a read, doze, and margarita
Body surfing time. Short wide fins are ideal for catching the wave.
How far are you from here?
Enjoying the balcony and beach view
Peaceful gardens and waterfalls are a welcome sight after being in town. The green colors, light water movement, and gentle splashes refresh and soothe the eye and soul.
After the beach, enjoy a show! Cirque du Soleil often performs a Joya, a show full of aerobatics, flyers, and dancers!

Kelsi dances with Santa, singing, “Oh, what fun it is to ride…laughing all the way!” 🙂
