The Royal Sands, Cancun

With pristine, white sand and crystal-turquoise Caribbean waters, Cancun, Mexico, is a beautiful tropical vacation and resort destination. It is also the ultimate place to be during the pandemic. My (Kelsi) visa expired in Singapore in June 2020, so I had to leave Keri who continues to work at Nanyang Technological University. I returned to the United States and stayed with our parents during the summer.

In August, I went to Cancun and Playa del Carmen where I have since been enjoying the resorts and beaches. The Royal Resorts were offering good deals, so I have been able to extend my stay until February 2021. 6 months of sunbathing with shrimp tacos and sipping a cold beverage have been the ultimate relaxing beach days.

Cancun Beaches

The Royal Sands is situated at the center of Cancun’s finest beaches, offering views of sparkling aquamarine waters and an inviting stretch of white sand.
Enjoying the beach everyday!
Powdery white sand and gentle turquoise waves
Tanning and margaritas at the beach, anyone?
Beautiful aquamarine waters of the Caribbean

The Royal Sands

Entry from The Royal Sands lobby to the pools, pool deck, and beach
The Royal Sands has two phases. Phase 1 has an infinity pool with views of aquamarine waters of the Caribbean, semi-olympic lap pool, and two pool bars.
Phase 2 at the Royal Sands also has a pool, pool bar and grill, and children’s pool, like Phase 1, but it is smaller and quieter.
The resorts are fun to explore and beautiful with pools and palms. I’m enjoying the day at a sister Royal resort of The Royal Sands, The Royal Cancun, on Cancun’s north shore.
From The Royal Sands, the view extends to the tip of the Hotel Zone, a long beachfront strip of high-rise hotels, restaurants, and shops. Looking left…
and looking right.
Me (Kelsi) at the beach in Cancun. Sunset casts rosy tints.
Sunset turns the color palette to cobalt, aegean, and indigo.
Besides the beach, Cancun has a lagoon! As an isthmus, Cancun offers water views on both sides. Dinner at Captain’s Cove on the lagoon side is a lovely way to admire the sunset.
