Kelsi and Keri, just ran the Miami Marathon, yay!!

Running the Miami Marathon 2022 was a great experience! The scenic route, organized expo, smooth race logistics, great support, plus terrific weather made running 26.2 miles really fun! The 20th anniversary of the marathon made the race especially celebratory. The race day started with a 4:45am pre-race shuttle from Miami Beach Convention Center to the Arena, followed by a 5:45am opening ceremony with singing of the national anthem, then a 6:00am marathon start with the wheel chairs, then the elite runners, then the runners in waves. 3-2-1…. Here we go!! Water and Gatorade were provided every mile, and Gu and fruit cups at two stops, miles 18 and 21, which gave us energy and stamina to the finish line.

The route crossed several bridges to South Beach and went through downtown Miami and Coconut Grove.
The post-race party was festive with a live band. Training with friends and fellow marathon finishers, Tito and Marangeli, in Miami was special and fun.
Route started and ended at the FTX Arena. Beautiful marinas, parks, and ocean views throughout the course, plus four bridge crossings!
Shady streets through neighborhoods like Coconut Grove were pleasant and helped keep us cool with the increasing temperatures as the day progressed.
Morning runs leading up to the marathon ended at cafes with acai bowls, smoothies, and coffee.

Happy with our results and excited to run another!

Post run desserts like Salt & Straw ice cream with scoops of Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies ‘n Cream are the ultimate!
Mom and Dad came to Miami to celebrate with us after the race. Relaxing at the Marriott at South Beach.
